I have been asked to install a two camera system in a car that has been subject to vandalism and break ins whilst on private property. I have done something similar in the past but was able to use a dedicated in-car 12v system with a leisure battery and wireless sender. Unfortunately I no longer have that system and was thinking of using a compact mains powered system that came with a 240V/12V transformer and has a 2A requirement. Before I possible fry this system can I plug it directly into the battery, I understand that its the Voltage that causes the damage so 12V should be fine but I just want to be sure so any advice would be much appreciated.

System:

1 x DVR @ 2A
2 x Pinhole B/W cameras @ 450mA (each)
2 x IR emitters @ 50mA (each)

Anything else that you could advise upon / have past experience of will also be appreciated
