1. Build your own, you'll still have to get the hammer out to fix the shop-bought ones on site occasionally. You'll not easily be able to encrypt your outbound signal, always the suspicion someone will pick it up whilst fiddling with their TV satellite link, and you might not decide to go for telemetry (remote pan-tilt-zoom).

2. Sonic at Birmingham if you've just won the lottery: only occasional use of Thor's Magic Hammer.

Best compromise is probably mix and match identical components, then if one set goes down simple item replacement will define your fault and you will still have one or two full kits in use. You should be looking at getting the whole shebang into a sports holdall if you will have access to 230v power.
