Some of those who deploy outside the UK are a touch Walter. They are trained on the G36CV, but have not had the tactical training for hostile environments. Some of them have a huge gap between actual ability and perceived ability. They think they are much better than they actually are, and they have not really been tested. When was the last time a protection officer from the Metropolitan Police fired their gun (apart from shooting the sandpit pit in the armoury after a long day)? I think it was 1982, and even then the incident was a bit dubious. They are still governed by UK police Laws, so having full-auto weapons is unlawful. What they don't appreciate is that they will go to prison if they use these weapons; they aren't trained to fire them and they have no legal right to carry them. Add to all this the fact that they have a large millitary support, they are a bit redundant. Caution.
