I know that when there is a scale up, it is so much easier to see collegues when we are hi vis'd up. Yeah it's a pain in the arse but when I go into a Public Order situation, it is so much easier to find my colleagues and make sure I get to them to help them out.
I was once at a job where one of the lads went into a crowd without his hi vis on, and whilst it went off OK there was no way we could really keep an eye on him, because he mingled in with the public around him.
If derbysihire want doorstaff to wear hi vis for easy identification and safety when in public order jobs I am all for it.
