Hi JayLiver

One of the reasons why many companies will only accept ex mil or ex bill is because they are usually easier to place in work after the courses. Also as answered above they are trained in Nav and comms and in fairness they are already used to working in teams and taking orders/ carrying out instructions ...

There are others who will take you with other relevant security experience....

Personally I am in favour of training anyone who is capable , but they must understand that their chances of employment are lower than that of those with relevant backgrounds and experience (Mil/Bill / Security)

We do however set out criteria for firearms and HECPO, as this is a different skill set altogether and if a person has absolutely no background then these skills will be of no use to them as their chances of work are slim to be frank.

I am not saying that a person with no Security Forces background is any less able to perform the task , but the truth is that they are few and far between in the HE side of work and as such will always struggle unless they have excellent network skills and loads of mates vouching for them.

Back to the CP question , I would recommend you call Brummie from Regal Security Training , he is a good old geezer and will give you no BS advice on your chances and course details.

As for checking with employers.... this is easy enough done for HE CP , but as there are so many ECP employers you may find as long a list of preferences as there are CP Training Providers.

Good Luck
