Thanks Metatron

The camera is a Canon 20D and it is a superb bit of kit and works well in very low light levels too. The photos were taken by my ex and she did a good job although I was a bit of a hard task master. I got her to take the group one a few times after telling her that feet are an important part of the composition! I guess I am a bit fussy being a photographer by trade.

I actually enjoyed taking some of the photos of the course, it was a shame I couldn't have taken more but it would have interfered with what I was there for. Mjay also did a sterling job taking some of the unarmed combat shots too.

Some examples of low light use are from a recent lunar eclipse as well as comet McNaught all of which ended up in the papers here.

More photos of the course are available at

If anyone wants me to be a course photographer, be it land or water based (in case any course offers underwater knife fighting techniques), let me know!
