When they were being issued with their uniforms one was unsure what size to ask for but thought that as he was a bit bigger than the other man he would ask for the next size up. This worked well for the shirt, the first man asked for a 16" so the second asked for a 17". Trousers were similar, the first man asked for 34" waist, the second asked for 36" waist. But when the first man was asked for his hat size he said 'six & seven eighths' the second man said' nine ten jack.'
