coversure insurance is on a distinguished road
Personal Accident & Illness Insurance can be very expensive...as much as £175 per operative/per week whilst working in hostile areas such as Afghanistan/Iraq....

Normally Personal Accident is bought on a Group basis by the employer, if you are self employed you have fewer insurers to approach and cover can be limited.

If working in hostile areas, I would recommend that you check to ensure the policy includes Med-Evac Cover as it is becoming a increasingly big problem for operatives stranded unable to return home due to cost and availability of specialist medical teams/air crew/flights.

Capital Benefits of £250,000 are commonly offered. As always, read the policy to ensure it is suitable i.e. no restriction on work, sports, countries and jurisdiction...also equally important is to understand the claims process.... how will you get home if you have been shot and need a medical team...what if the airline wont allow you to fly on their plane? What happens if you fall ill and are being billed by the hospital on a daily rate?

If any forum member wants me to offer advice on their policy, simply email me a pdf copy to peruse accordingly. As always, info treated in strictist confidence and response made by external email with any general salient points added to the forum....

Cheers, Mark
