Here is some further information I have posted before....
Annual Personal Accident Cover for Self Employed CP / PMC in Iraq/Afghanistan is £1,786 per year (standard cover and min premium) and Single Trip is £200 (min) per month with a certain UK Insurer, additional covers available include extension for accidental death (explosion/bullet) but the policy does not cover death by natural causes such as heart attack etc. You will need Illness Cover not available with this particular scheme outside the UK.
The other point to note is that Medical Cover and Repatriation to the UK is not covered so you should ensure your employers will arrange and pay for this before you leave the UK.
For non-hostile countries the Personal Accident Insurance starts at £50 Min per month for CPO working anywhere in the world and this would include Medical Cover and Repatriation to the UK.
