When I am working over seas on the ground I carry an old Nokia (with no camera) and use a local network pay as you go sim card. I don’t use it to phone home and don’t store any names to numbers. If it is lost or it is stolen r if you have to bin it there are no dramas no trace. God for bid you get hit or kidnapped you don’t want the boyos phoning your home and giving your family the good news.
If you are working in the (for f*%K sake no signal) a sat phone may be a good idea this can also be used as a sat nav. You can get a good one for a couple 100 shekels.
This is my opinion if you have an all singing and dancing mobile that makes you tea in the morning when you need it the most it will g o tits up and you have lost every thing.
