I guess I'll use the template...

Q. Do you represent a company?
A. I do not.

Q. What area's in the Security Industry are you interested in?
A. [spelling nazi] areas [/spelling nazi - even though I'll probably make some spelling/grammar mistakes myself in this post] I am interested in all areas of the industry and have been for years, except maybe keyholding - that just sounds really, really boring (unless you've got a key fetish).

Q. What do you hope to get from the forum?
A. Advice, stories, experience, people who understand how I feel about work/the industry/doing a lot for it (flexibility and such), maybe some contacts... anything from the real world that may help me to get a better view on the industry in this country.

I've always had an interest in security and mainly close protection. It's something I can really see myself doing, rather than - as I am doing now - guarding a construction site and chasing away kids who are trying to be cool and break in.
I know it's not fancy or glamourous, but for some reason CP has always appealed to me. Maybe it's my "serving" nature (see any Allied psychologist's report on German/Germanic people right after WWII), but the combination of my skills, my knowledge and protecting someone seems like the right bit to me.
Failing that, I've always felt slightly satisfied in the general security sector, so yeah. Then again, being 6ft4 and not too beautiful, this is pretty much the only industry I can get a job in

Q. Tell our members something about yourself?
A. I am one of those filthy immigrants who steal your jobs and women (and I did both, hah ). I'm originally from Western Europe and worked for one of the leaders in the industry in ISPS/maritime security for two years back in my own country. Now I live in Kent and my SIA licence is pending.
Also - to get really personal - I really hate those phone-machine-thingies that make you talk to them. Try to say "advisor" or "speak to a representative" with my accent when calling your bank!

I'm 23 and very aware that the combination of my age/accent may be a problem job-wise. However (then again, do not all 23-year-olds say this?) I am quite "mature" for my age - even as a kid I didn't like being "young". I like working in this industry, I like working hard, I like being flexible - and thankfully my girlfriend (hopefully "wife" within the year) is sort of willing to accept my dedication to this line or work.

Q. How did you find our website Close Protection World?
A. Google, I guess. I also guess my search was CP related.

Q. Finally Khensu, please add anything else you like below and thankyou for your introduction ....
A. You're very welcome.
