Hi there,
Its available to anybody who served upto dec 31st 1984 at present. I missed out this time by 10 months and 10 days. Details are available on the veterans agency website. I only know this as i tried only today to get mine and was informed of the criteria. they hope to move the ceiling date to include everybody who has served but at present they are swomped with requests. You have to provide enlistment date/discharge date/reg No/ regiment or corp etc to be accepted. KTM |

Its just summat else to loose along with the association badge s we paid a days wages per year, quite frankly i dont want to be associted with it no more the had 22 years from me i got some medals bunged in a draw or storage box somewhere, gotta look forward lads!!!
dont need a bleddy badge to remember That!!! Sorry bout the winge if they want to do somthing. follow up welfare for wives, let wives of deceased soldiers inherit the husbands pension, instead of giving iraqi kids £2M on a compo claim that will obviously not get there ? give 60% discounts. on houses or interest free loans on mortgages for ex mlitary, free bus passes for all that have done over 15 years, but not a bloody BADGE! christ almighty ! no communtiy tax the list goes on as the Yanks french italians, all get assisted and are teated like normal civilains instead of third class, civvies dont give a fig what we have done why should they? so the badge!!!! noop not on my list of prorities, sorry boys . |

well I kinda agree with u brummster....Did anyone see the pages of The Sun today?.....I was at Brize Norton 1987..was a lot better then but of course under a conservative government , somewhat more pro H.M Forces than this pathetic corrupt anti military Labour Government who would rather give an Iraqi 2 million , yes you heard it right , 2 million of our money than assist in any way shape or form the service men and women of this country,,,.....I despise this government and the damage they have caused to our country...not long before the next general election...I know where my vote is going...even the present Conservative Government is to leftie for me.....Brummster your right to moan mate....but if and when my badge comes..it will go in my NAAFI Tea tin with the rest of the worthless toot I have accumulated over the years!!
Don't forget St Georges Day next week!!! Fly the English flag with pride from dusk till dawn... Last edited by sorcerer; 17-04-2008 at 09:21 PM. Reason: pressed send to soon!!! sorry ..tired... |

Im new to the Forum so hello. On this subject I have to agree somewhat with the comments made about the treatment of families and those injured in the line of duty, whatever service you served with. I did recieve a vet's badge about two years ago some 16 years after having left the Military after 14 years service. Earlier this year my Father passed away aged 85 having been a bomber pilot WW11, he also got his Vet's badge last year, can you believe it, go figure.
