ASE will become famous soon enough
Next time you go thru that security check with the same guard. Make sure you stick a fat hairy Tarantula in your wallet....that will bring to the notice of company superiors that this guard is working out of line and unsupervised.
(If it was my wallet, he'd get a faceful of hungry moths!)
Marcus2RRF has made it clear where we all stand with regard to personal rights. Security Managers have to know these rules.

No power of search exists for private security companies in the UK, No matter what your contract or handbook says. Simpily refuse the only way is ofr them to call the Police and they will not search you without reasonable grounds.

bossnass, quite a predicamet you have . does the company have a search policy on the site,if so is it on a sign on the wall or written in a book. for one they cannot search personal belongings without 2 staff and a manager being present. this is a contrevention of your statutary rights and human rights and they are breaking the law with this move.in personal searches. my advice is seek legal advice

Can they then refuse you entry onto the premises if you don't agree to a search.
