I believe that we (security operatives) have been put in a position that we are being asked to tolerate this type of insensitive contact from employers and recruitment agencies. I find this personally offensive that someone would be invited for an interview or a job and the person can’t find it to do things right from the beginning by being on time. Consider the expense in public transport and for your time in travelling an hour by train and bus for no reason.
Are we as security operatives in a position that we deserve no respect at the hands of future employers? There is much discussion about professionalism, punctuality and the ability to get the job done right. As David Rubens who taught my first door supervisor course at Meido Ltd in 2003 stated 95% of the security professionals always seem to get it wrong and he gave the three areas that could excel security professionals in the industry.
