Hi Bravo24,

Most companies will require you to be 21 (check with them as I also heard that some only go for over 25's as drivers).

Most companies will train you up. You go on your 3 day course and it's all done in house. The company I worked for then asked to sign a waiver saying that if you left within 6 months you pay for the full licence fee, if you left within 9 months you pay for half of it and if you left within a year you pay nothing. I would check with the individual company, they are always hireing so there won't be any shortage of positions.

If you want a 50% discount, you only get it if you pay for it. If you do end up paying the full whack for whatever reason then you show proof of payment (receipt / payslip dedection etc...) and get the sia to issue you a refund. It has to be done that way as the big companies have a standard aggreement with the SIA for payment.

CVIT is a good job however take the following into account.

1) Drivers hours. Additional jobs on the evening impact on this and if found out after an accident it's a nightmare.

2) Normal working hours. Most runs start very early 4:30 - 5:00 am and don't finish until gone 6pm. I tried it and it killed me doing extra jobs. Some manage it but not all can hack it.

3) The company you work for may not allow you to do an additional job. This will form part of your contract and is a nightmare of you're found out or your other jobs impact on your full time job.

Just a bit of food for thought mate. If you want any further details or info drop me a PM. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

I have just done my CViT with Task International who run these courses all the time!

I found the course extremely well run, and very informative.

I know they have courses coming up soon - as i got an email to put more of my staff on them.

As for jobs - i think the previous thread covered it very well, however yes you do get the 50% refunded (you still have to pay 100% - then they refund you) as a secondn license.

i hope this helps? If you need any contact info then please don't hesitate to contact me.

Kindest Regards

Jon
