I am looking to purchase a portable wireless covert CCTV system, i need it to be motion activated, able to run on its own with no power supply and record at least 12hrs onto a DVR or similar.

All help in this matter is greatly appreciated

can you be more specific as to its general use... is the system to be planted in a location and never recovered, does it have to be moved during an operation or will it remain in the same location until it can be recovered, etc...

the best kind of system will be run via mains/dc supply but can still be small and portable as well as connected to a transmitter.

If it requires motion activation then Im guessing it won't be used on the move because then it would be constantly on.

Many companies can custom make a camera to be hidden inside anything from a picture frame on a desk to a TV or teddy bear.

A standard webcam on a computer can be setup with free software to work via motion capture and can be streamed digitally anywhere in the world to a remote server.

It really depends on your use, you can readily buy covert systems from dozens of places....

Have a look at these sites, see if they have anything of use:

Wireless Spy Camera
battery operated and wireless

CCTV Cameras for security, surveillance, cctv camera centre, supplies of cctv camera equipment, for home (domestic) and Business (commercial) use.
selection of covert camera types

Covert Camera - Ezcctv
cctv company

Do you need to purchase? Or will renting it be an option? I only ask as maintaining such equipment can bve very expensive...

I use Bluerock for all my CCTV needs..
