CCTV stands for Closed-circuit television.
CCTV uses video cameras which transmit a signal to a monitor which can be monitored. The signal can be recorded. Generally the signal is not tranmitted but sent via cables. Recent updates now allow CCTV wireless links. CCTV assists can be used for surveillance and as extra security, such as airports, banks, and airports or military installations. Public places are now covered by CCTV which has caused debate over public security versus privacy. CCTV is also used in Business for security and in industrial plants. CCTV equipment can be used to observe processes that are away from ac control room or where environment is not comfortable for humans. CCTV systems may operate continuously or using time lapse to monitor a particular event. |
