Does anybody know how you would obtain (if there were any) CCTV footage? Basicly we had a accident a few months back and the muppet is saying it wasn't his fault. No witnesses was just wondering if this would be possible, though sure its a long shot!
In UK by the way
wasn't too long ago the 25th of August, rang insurance comapny and police but they wouldn't attend as we had managed to get to a layby. and said if your not obsturcting the road they wont come.

try the local police or council.they will need to know by law who is operating a public space system.once you find out if there was a camera in the area you can legally request a copy.footage is normally stored for 28days then destroyed.you would normally be expected to pay a fee for the cost of materials and time to make said copy.if you feel they are trying to fob you off speak to a legal rep.most town centre systems are funded through your taxes so take advantage of this.if the camera in question was on a pub, shop etc then you have less chance of getting a copy but some could see it as good customer service and be happy to help.

If you ever think footage may be required, you should get a request in for it as soon as possible, as people dont keep footage forever (well most people dont)
