If i might add i would suggest you read a book from Lt. Col Dave Grossman called On Killing. I have been priviliged to see him speak on several occasions along with Dr. Fackler who both are great scholars on opposite ends of work. Dr. Fackler is known for the Wound Ballistics Review if you are really interested to know the techical aspects of how it works.
Lt. COl Grossman deals with the psychological aspects of how it is done and how it has evolved over the years. Please do yourself a favour and read this book All The Best |

Col. Grossman is indeed a very good resource. On Killing, as well as On Combat are both considered cutting edge treatises on the psychology of using and responding to force.
I have presumed that your post was directed at me to read up on the topic. I wrote this article several years ago and, although you have never heard me speak or follow my training programs, you might be surprised that this is not new material. I have been conducting training programs for well over 22 years. I'm always re-evaluating my philosophy and learning from others. If I'm mistaken, and you weren't challenging my knowledge base,I apologize for getting defensive. When I first read your comment, I assumed that you were advising me to read up on a topic that I am very well versed in. I am not posting these articles as a challenge to other viewpoints, as there are many. I am making specific points that I hope will generate discussion. |

My friend. i was not questioning you at all. in any shape form or fashion. I was addressing my comment in general to the board. I have not been on this board but a few days to be exact and i have no beef (as they say) with no one.
Having studied alot about wound balistics and many articles and books on threat reduction (for lack of a better word). i was just saying that in my opinion these books and information can help someone who has not studied these ideas in this way as you have. i certainly do not consider myself an expert in anything and would not challene anyones authenticity about any idea's thoughts or discussion that they may have. i was certainly under the impression when ijoined this site that it was a place where like minded professionals can share information make suggestions to each other recommend reading job sites etc. If i am mistaken on my ideas of this web site i will resign immediately. As i don't need the headache. i'm just an independent operator not a scholar. AGain i apologize if my post offended you. |

This was my overreaction and I apologize for for my comments. It has been one of those weeks. As I said, my thoughts are merely "A" way, not "THE" way.
Unlike other forums we have probably all been on, this one is unique, in that we have more talent and experience here. We can almost always pick out the wannabe's and Walters. I should have waited. |

NO worries mate.
i graduated from the Trojan Close Protection course last week. I'm always very cautious to be careful about my experience as i realize that on this board is alot of people with a variety of experience that far exceeds mine. On top of that i am a YANK who defected to the UK 5 years ago and would only consider going back with the right offer. I spent 18 years as a police officer there and have enjoyed living here for the past 5. I have tried like mad to break into the CP business hope this is my break finally to get a decent career going. /all the best |
