All true, well in my case it is, I worked for a Brit company who have replaced most of us for Rumanians!!!!!!!!!

Regarding employing Eastern Euopeans, try SOC who use some Serb guys as management for the Ugandan guard force on some US bases in Iraq. The ones I have met have been OK, even though it would seem they have probably put me out of a job.

I know SOC and some others including one particular UK firm have began seeking personnel from out this region. Romanians , Hungarians and Bulgarians. As for Serbs they are Bosnian Serbs and unfortunately they are part of the coalition too (Bosnian military has troops in Iraq) and are therefore as legitimate as you or I .... difference is they will do it for a lot less.
I recall when I first arrived in Iraq in 2003 a chap said to me enjoy it whilst it lasts , in 4 years time this place will be full of eastern Europeans willing to do the work for a quarter of the pay. He was about 2 years out with the prediction!!! |
