Hi All,

I am finding this forum very detailed and full of valuable advice regarding the Close Protection World.

I have 3 years Military Experience and 10 years experience in the Anti Terrorism Unit in the High Security Prisons in the Uk, with experience in the Ministry of Defence Police (firearms and tactics trained & DV cleared). WHAT ARE MY CHANCES OF EMPLOYMENT IN CLOSE PROTECTION ?

Also I am looking at doing the Ronin Concepts Hostile Close Protection Course soon in order to get my SIA qualification.

I fully understand that Networking is the key to obtaining Contract and I already have 2 very soild contacts in the industry, who are waiting for me to get my SIA qualification.

Basically I am hoping that senior members can give me some good advice and clarify my course being chosen and opportunities.

Look forward to anyones quality replies.
Andy

Sounds like you've got a chance at least, with your two contacts. I would advise you to get your SIA qual and any other additional training (firearms, first aid, driving etc), the fresher the better. This shows that you're motivated and willing to invest in your own skills.

Keep networking, stay in touch with your contacts. Remember that they probably have 'a zillion' other operators wanting to get into the game, don't let them forget you.

As for your former background, sorry, but do you know how many guys out there with xxx years in service and operations? Don't mean to sound harsh, but that's the way it is.

An last...don't give up. It will come when you least expect it, but it won't when you want it the most...

Hope this helps

Si
