Apply to companies that operate in those areas, a bit of research on the internet should do it. Several USA companies operate over there.

Rehman,

I am currently in Bangladesh scratching my arse. here due to the Mrs being sent here by Mr Brown. Anyways I'm in the same boat chap, been looking on the net for companies but can't find anything ! One American company have a partnership here (Trojan Security), but I have already met with them and they don't have anything other than static guarding etc done by the locals. So going to send my C.V out to all the missions here to see if I get any joy. If I hear of anything I'll put a post up ok.. Good Luck...

Hi Rehman,

I've done work in that part of the world. Just returned from Pakistan. I would be very surprised if you picked up a job 'in country.' All the companies there recruit locally. My work comes from the Usual larger companies based out of the UK or US. You would have to network at home initially in the hope you would pick up something down the line.

Rehman might be hitting the next big thing you know. Pakistan is having IS problems which might require CP/EP for the managers of the global corporations. India and China are always being championed as the ‘next big thing’ in global economies and therefore will require protective services.

The down-side to this statement is that these countries have a massive population and therefore an abundance of people willing to work in the Security Industry for extremely low wages. Maybe the best thing is to start up a training academy to ‘export’ the western security philosophy. Maybe Chris could tap up the Commercial Secretary at the wife’s office and see if a local sponsor could be found to ‘front’ the school. Protectasia, Chris and Rehman could open the door to a new training market.

What do you think?

Frank

There are other security forums similar to this one, although a membership fee may be required that actually have sticky threads open to all members that are company directories.

Nice point, frank - and i think psc's do a great job, as i make clear in my book on in my blood, a new book about adventures in security in the middle east and africa from oak publishing . But i agree with your second para. there's far more money (american) sloshing around in iraq and afghanistan where the coalition essentially call the shots. this is not the case elsewhere and i would be amazed if things took off in pakistan. same prob in the sudan. i spent a while there, and there were some psc's sniffing around; they soon moved on. (though armor got a demining contract.) but i could well be wrong. salaams
