Just a quick question for the ex-mil guys.
What are time times for a BFT? I'm over forty and looking for a bit of a benchmark. I assume it's still run in boots, I remember when the army started to issue Hi Tech trainers in place of the Black Army Roadslappers!!!! Just looked at the title of this thread, sounds like a financial broad sheet doesn't it. |

ACT, you wanna do at least 8.5 minutes in them black 'daps' with a tail wind, if your 'chairbourne' (over 40) then I think it is 12 mins

As a bench mark.....
1.5 miles in 10 min 30 sec 50 Press ups in 2 mins 50 Sit-ups in 2 minutes It's then converted into a points system to see if you fail or pass! Oh and no boots you'll be pleased to know. Depending on how old you are and if you standup or sit down to go to the loo then the timings and quantaties change. The CFT is still 8 miles in just under 2 hours carrying as much as you can get away with! |

In the good old days ('96) it was sit ups to a bleep tape and 3 pull ups!
I suppose for some, in the good old days it was how quick you could run a powder keg 100 yards! |

Did my first BFT up and down Queens Ave in DMS and puttees........... ok, I know that in those days a Centurian was a rank and not a tank and that the bow and arrow was a secret weapon HAHA!! Cheers fellas |

BFT was always an inconvenience, got in the way of real phys. However it was always good as a warm up before going for a proper run.
