AG Take over

I hear AG have accepted a takeover bid by G4S.

G4S meaning Group four?

G4S was a merger between Group 4 and Securicor, then the monopolies people said it was too big and GLS split up from it. G4S recently took over Rock Steady which is one of the big event security companies. It looks like they might take back GLS as well.
There's also a couple of the big door supervisor companies merged. It seem to be the way things are going, the big companies are taking over.
Excuse my ignorance but who are AG and what sort of work do they do?

Yes Armour Group are huge. This new G4S must be massive!!

I thought G4S were a global company now anyway, they seem to have divisions all over the world. Could be a good thing for us lot down under as AG is one of the companies a fair few Kiwis seem to be working for, partly because of their connection to Wormald Fire and Security over here.

Yes littlewoman, G4S have now bought out GSL. It's a very long complicated story, but Group4 got their own way in the end.

G4S have bought AG, yesterday I believe. It really was only a matter of time before they bought one of the big PMCs, with over 500 000 employees word wide it does look like world domination.
I hear they paid about £43m for AG.... though don't quote me on that!
