Can I work in the UK?

Hi everyone,
I am currently finishing up my time with the US Marines. I am only a permanent resident in the States though and since most security jobs need citizenship I would have trouble breaking in down south. I am a Canadian citizen though. Would I still be able to work in the UK or for UK companies even though I only have a Canadian passport and have not served in the Britsh Military. It seems to me that many Australians and New Zealanders work for UK companies. We are after all part of the commonwealth

Most security jobs in the UK need an sia license. You have to do the appropriate course then pay £245 to the SIA, then wait and wait and wait, probably about 4 months before you get a license. Other than that there's no problems, you don't need citizenship just a right to work.
