So many brands of comms / can't afford them all?

I found a useful link for those working with more than 1 brand of 2way.

audio radio accessories adaptors

Link your PTT headset to a wide range of radio sets.

I'm a little sceptical about their claims. Several of those adapters don't give specifics and just say they enable you to use your accessories with a variety of radios. All seem to show a two pin socket with a one pin plug, which suggests that the radio would have a one pin socket. Most professional ones have two pins.
Icom, Kenwood and Motorolla all have different wiring so you couldn't use the same adapter for all of them. The only way you can have a universal system is to have a special earpiece, PTT and mic that plugs in to a separate adapter for each model. I have heard they exist but don't know who supplies them.

I think you'll find that's exactly what they are offering - adaptors for a wide range of 2ways. It asks you to quote what headset and radios you wish to match... they do the rest.

- this is a non-profit-making link.... simply for those who work with varying degrees of outfits. Not all teams use the superior brands of sets.... this simply allows the individual to be prepared for the unknown.

There is another company called Wildtalk 0800 956 1718
They are very good & offer 2 & 3 wire sets for decent prices & radio's & also a range of adaptors similar to the ones on this site.
I know that adaptors for Motorola GP300/320/340 radio to allow use of a Kenwood earpiece exist but haven't yet found where to get them from. It seems this site looks promising thanks for the link
