Has anybody attended the UK Ronin course and if so what were or are peoples thoughts on it and the after service received as a friend of mine is thinking of doing it? Any other good UK based courses to be recommended?

Dave

I may be biased but, you'll do a lot worse than looking at Longmoor Groups Cse or CRG's CP & HECPO Cse. Completion of the CRG cse will 9 times out of 10 get you a job offer from them as well. Longmoor Gp are former Rmp CPO's who teach from experience gained in a number of CP environments, especially HE.

Dave Hi,
I am Roger Lees from Regal Security Training, the thing is, the training providers through out the UK are all offering the same end product, now this would be a great opportunity to hard sell my Gig! But no! you have to do your homework here dude look at what and who is right for you before you part with your hard earned cash, we are a business we are all professional nd we all like to think we are the best. the course you friend did was most likely outstanding, (For Him!) I have done the CRG HECPO and was not inpressed for £2000 for 4 days!!! This site give you the links to some impressive companies Anubis, Longmoor Group , Morrigan Solutions and another is NIBSSS, Nemesis, and of course my company Regal Security Training, but at the end of the day its your choice and your money.
who you spend it with must be able to offer you what YOU want,

Good luck dude

Hi Mick
Sorry to here that, but it does sound slightly personal? However like the lads on here who asked the question? you have to start somewhere? that is what he did? But the part i thought was truly unprofessional about your comment was making it public? and informing the forum of the mans grade??? mmmm integraty, professionalism, and moral discipline springs to mind. i did my course with nibssss and found the course was very good, and did what it said on the package.

What is your company Name Dave? as a training provider, id be pretty poor if i did not do my home work and find out?

by return mine is on my webpage, Regal Security Training

I have to say that I wouldn't have put it exactly how Mick did however where in peoples minds does it become necessary to debate something or hold back for professionalism? Not a defence of above but an analysis.

I wouldn't personally have chosen Micks line of attack but I think it would have been fair game to ask the question has anybody trained with NIBSSS and what were there thoughts? A fair thing as I should imagine that if an instructor doesn't want to reccomend an individual for a position or put him down (which the individual probably wouldn't know about) then that can ruin a persons career as word gets around in this small community unfair and unstoppable. My thesis you understand.

Hi everyone,

Sorry but I had to remove Mickblack's post as it did overstep the mark by revealing personal details. I am not opposed to constructive criticism and even saying when things are not as they should be but personal attacks that can not be substantiated are not the best way to go about things.

What I will say is a CV is a confidential document as for details of that being used in a negative way on a public forum without the persons consent goes outside the realms of PERSEC and professionalism. Doing what you have done here has probably caused you more harm than the person you were berating, after all how many people now would be willing to send you a CV?

Think twice, post once!

Nomad
have had a email from dougie with ref to my post about his company NIBSSS .

as i said in the post i dont have an axe to grind with him and can assure you there was no personal attack or malice intended, although after re-reading my bit of a rant it may have come across that way.
i only mentioned the PBA and grade to highlight that you cant become an instructor over night without relevant experience of the Circuit to pass on to students.(the "virgin "bit)

i did not and would not display personel information in any public forum,we are in the security business after all,and both myself and Dougie live in a security concious enviroment.
(you do know your home address is on your web site, and i dont trust ceasefires ,not where we live)

my personal experience of the PBA is passing their course via the post and becoming a executive member after paying my fee. i make no apologies ,i was not impressed ,told him so and had my membership revoked ,as you can guess i was gutted.

since 1997 but more recently in the last few years i gather Dougies company has gone from strength to strength and as he quite rightly points out he provides the only training service to students in NI whos only other option is to go to UK or elsewhere, sincerely good luck to him.

i know Dougie is running a course in the near future and by way of an apology, and if invited i will personally return his CV as it obviously years out of date and therefore not relevent.

i make no apologies about being passionate about the industry, helping newly trained CP get started and helping them if i can.
but the down side for me is i tend not to suffer fools gladly, and hopfully work with them no more than once.

apologies to all on this site and to Dougie personaly

will engage brain before i type in future
