Cityimp

Regarding CR course,I would advise that you be familiar with powerpoint. You will have to research and create daily briefings and orders etc. The course involves a lot
of hard work, but you will enjoy.

regards rod

I agree with Rod powerpoint skills is a must, there were a couple of guys on my cse who struggled with giving presentations as their computer skills were non existent. The course itself is very good with a steep learning curve, be prepared for a few late nights but the completion is worth it. I'm deploying to the sandpit next month with CR so if you work hard you get the rewards.

I was on the course with steevorct and I was one of the guys who struggled at first having never done powerpoint. By the end of the course I was an expert. They are long days, but just keep on top of the work load. If you have your own lap top, take it with you. I took a copy of The Bodyguards Bible and it helped a great deal.

Good luck, it was the best 15 days ever and made some good mates.

fluffy will become famous soon enough
I can agree with the previous posts ,I was on the course last year.Losts of powerpoint work/orders/route,recce reports. All done with phot attachments.Dont worry as your bound to have a IT boffin on the course but if not the instructors will show you the way.Take plenty of Pro Plus with you

Did I miss something here? Why were you giving presentations in powerpoint on an sia Close Protection course?

Powerpoint is everything. On any CP operation information must be given to the Principle or Client. With CR this is often done by Powerpoint. They teach you all aspects off the job. The classes are giving using powerpoint, so why not learn how to use it? Pro plus yes. But usually its the adrenalin that keeps you going. My shortest day was 17 hours, longest was 22 hours. But I would never regret it.
