BNU is a course awarding body the same as Edexcel and City and guilds only better, LG is accreditted the same as Anubis Associates Ltd, Nemesis, CTR services and a couple more.
What is so special that LG have their own brand of cert's. Look for sites that are prepared to put the names of their instructors on the web pages, all of this cloak and dagger stuff is a thing of the past and it also lets you see the standard that they can teach at.
Give Nemesis and Anubis a look to see what I mean.

So if I understand you properly you saying that those top companies you mentioned are not only accredited at more demanding therefore better awarding bodies, but also through their high standards they made their OWN certificates kind of trademark within industry and they are now recognized valued qualifications themselves?

What I said was that it appears that Longmore Group issue there own certificates for parts of their course, the same as most companies do, but give them a type of serial number.
As for more demanding awarding bodies that is a much bigger argument and it is up to every training school to aim high in their training and the standard of their trainers.
You have to do your homework before parting with your money the same as paying for a car, it is a big step that you do not want to waste.
I work on the Circuit with people who also teach for certain companies and they are all very competant, but it is the companies that they work for that make the difference.
As to training abroad I leave that argument to those that live there who can give us an insight into what goes on there.

Good thread all.

ANY skill that you can have in your toolbox can be valuable on a protective assignment, be it mechanics or medic.

When looking at a course, one should look at the entire package; no one course will give100% in each available skills, there are so many and course providers can only provide what they can provide in the allotted time.

Courses can only give a foundation of the work, the real learning will take place every shift you pull in the field. They key is to ensure that the course which is in essence the foundation is sturdy, suited to you and provides the tools and skill to build upon.

Good luck to all and stay safe
