The jackanory was (and it was a good one) that you had to pay several thousand to do the training course in america but to apply had to send off money to cover admin fees???
Sad thing was I knew a few people who were taken in by this, the owner of samra was allready disqualifed from running a company and was investigated for fraud on this matter.
The police are the only ones that cover this role (for uk) and anyone who says different is talking bollocks.

I remember seeing this ad in the back of FHM and thinking , it must be a wee bit dodgy (thats me being nice)- £20 for a application form if i remember the add correctly

I do know some guys on another forum who visited the site and asked a couple of questions on his meessage boards- anything that he didn't like was quickly removed - (nothing abusive just asking how things worked)

This advert must be viewed with suspicion.

CO19 is right, in the UK the only Sky Marshals are Police instructors from select forces (i.e National Training Centres). I was an instructor on the Federal Air Marshal Programme in Atlantic City just after 9/11. Bottom line - training is vigorous shooting standards are high and the personnel are Federal Agents which means US Citizen under 35 (40 in some cases) and a whole bunch of vetting.

I cannot see how this advert can fly (pardon the pun).

Regards,
Steve

AFAIK it was pulled after 1 month- something to do with charging £20 for a basic CRB check

I could be wrong (not for the first time) but I believe that you paid a wedge for them to train you, then they'd put you on a list to act as a security guard on foreign internal flights- a guy on the other forum looked into it and tasers/stun guns were mentioned

most Skymarshal employment is a Goverment based employment,eg EL/AL. Israeli airlines have had skymarshals on all flights sinse the 1970s , if you intersted in doing a skymarshal course try Condor : : The Security & Combat Academy ive worked with them before and they are a company all run by former Israeli Shin Bet Security forces , however they are quite strict as of who can do their courses after vetting checks etc.

I beleive there is a company in Texas that trains air marshalls, but that was a few years ago now. Will ask a contact for the details as i know he was intrested but was too old, as the company in question had a cut off age of 37 if i remember correctly, although no idea why 37. I will add any info i get after i have emailed him later
