Do you think being 'Security Cleared' from a previous job would help in the CP world?
Your thoughts? |

No Don't think so,i see this kind of clearance useless. (This is only my personal point of view)
In eastern Europe you would be checked for any convictions, your relatives also would be checked even for connections with organized crime. You also would not get your firearms license if you have convictions,so nobody would consider you as bodyguard here..I'm aware that some of the company's do hire people with offenses, but i would call those company's temporary, they wont be there for long... |

It all depends on who you are going to work for or where. For instance both in Afghanistan and in Iraq, if you work on any HMG contracts as a CPO you have to be vetted, and it does'nt matter if you have already been SC'd. You will be vetted again fully. There are also other companies that require vetting to be carried out on their employees. SO vetting is not a waste of time. It is now a part of everyday life.

By 'security cleared' I mean via the MOD to CTC, dv etc level.
If you have been security cleared at some point would it not put you in a better light? For example, would it not make you look 'more' trustworthy/honest than someone who hasn't been cleared? BTW - I already know that 99% of the guys and gals who work CP are trustworthy. Just thinking form the other side. lol |

well yes..
but i just remembered one nice story related to the clearing.. About 5-6 years ago in Lithuanian Republic , German bank was robbed... It was robbed by 2 security officers. One was working in the bank in senior position and another was working in one of the most large private security company's.... The guy that was employed by bank had some large debt ... Anyways, both where "FULLY vetted" So does this vetting thing really help? Or maybe new kind of vetting should be done? Sometimes x-convict maybe more reliable then some "clean" guy... |

Leituvis, not bitching buddy ,but I think your getting a bit confused as to what the guys are saying regarding vetting .SC and dv vetting is totally different to the form of vetting procedures implemented by non goverment firms.I dont think in the UK you would be SC/DV vetted ,for Aviation Security in UK airports you under go Home Office vetting for the Department of Transport.
As Alex correctly states in his thread if you are on a HMG/FCO contract in Aghan /Iraq you will be re vetted (SC) even if you have been vetted (SC) on a previous contract. Also if you were working for a certain UK firm on a FCO contract in other locations through out the world you would have to be DV cleared. |
