If I have posted this in the wrong place, apologies. I attended a search course with Roger Ings (I can recommend his course to anyone) a few years ago, and want to brush up on this subject. Unfortunately Roger doesn’t have any “open courses” running in the foreseeable future. Can any board members recommend a company providing search training aimed at the security market?

The last course I took we covered buildings, grounds and vehicles. It was aimed at uniformed security working in a controlled environment such as a residency or office. In the dim and distant past I also got a few sessions on searching people.
I basically want a brush up on the buildings etc and to be honest more in depth on people, figure if you’re in a situation where you’re checking people you need a paper trail just to cover your own back from litigation. Not it to the idea of defusing a bomb with my trust Leatherman and a hair clip, just want to brush up on search procedures and actions on a find. |

Is this not covered in standard CP courses? Is it not part of sia criteria?
It is the ABC's and should definitely be a part of any CP course. I have never heard of dedicated courses for this, here, all security courses have this, even a 5 day guarding course. m |

My apologies gentlemen I may have miswrote my initial post. I have in the past completed search training courses. Yes I believe they are part of the sia criteria. However I have neither the time nor the money to attend a Close Protection course at the moment, I merely want to refresh my knowledge of search techniques. I like to refresh all my skills on regular bases and as its a few years since I last attended a search course I intend to brush up that skill next.
