some general advice, as we all know in our business all works with connection, especially here in the U.S. so first your network get's you the foot in the door. on the other hand you have to keep in mind, in the private sector each US state has their own law and different regulations regading work permit (security provider), guard cards, CCW etc. so you have to be prepared, for the hassle and you have to invest time to get all these permissions done. Most of the US Executive jobs require a CCW.

A lot of Celeb work is done by off duty Cops or former cops, they are allowed to work armed within the private sector etc. also they have great knowledges of the State law they operate in. So it will touch but manageable!!! For more details and help feel free to PM me.

Actually, most executive protection jobs in the US don't really require a firearm at all. Of course you need to be licensed if you are armed however. Way too many folks entering the field still believe that being armed is a requirement. the reality is few jobs actually need it, but it's a great marketing tool. Working freelance is difficult, but not impossible. It would help to get licensed whereyou wish to work and definately network with folks.

I can vouch for Sexton also. As a matter of fact, I am one of the EP trainers. As a shameless plug, their PPS course is recognized by the state of Virginia. That is important when looking for work in the area. That certification does open doors with other agencies looking for trained personnel.
