I know that there many more ways of jamming signals etc for comms and other systems, but it is concerning when things like on the attached PDF are picked up from Shoplifters in the UK, it has far more implications than a lot of people think. A the moment police tech units are investigating how many signals this actually wipes out. but considering it works not only of RF but also AM and UHF which is already a lot. So far (to date)around 5 have been captured in the UK 3 in Scotland and two in London. It has a two meter effective range.

Quite a concerning little find, would be interesting to see if it blocks out airwave comms etc, In the wrong hands this could easily be used to lure a bobbie somewhere isoltated with no chance of comms. In a "Terrorist" application could be very dangerous.

This was apparently purchased in germany, i will see if one of the DIU's has managed to get any info from the tech teams yet (costs about £50). But saying that just had this link forwarded to me this next one has been around since 2006 even more concerning it teaches you how to build the thing for about $160 (£80) a self-tuning, wide-bandwidth portable RF jammer. Wave Bubble - Preparation this one does have wide ranging implications for comms.

I should imagine legislation reguarding the import and manufacture will be forthcoming especially with the current Terrorism threat levels. But then again it will probably take this item to be used before they listen.
What experience have you with this kind of thing if you dont mind me asking?

A bit, enough to get by on when techies are talking about things. I deal across the uk for a company and say what measures to put inplace, intergrated systems counter measures etc. And you?

I currently work for the MOD of sorts, I had quite a bit of exp with counter measures etc but mainly the uk issue stuff, am keen to learn on other types tho.
I also have a policing history too.
Is there much call for counter measures in the UK ?

Mainly corporate sides look for the counter measures, for boardrooms, Directors offices etc. even though they would never admit to using them. but i know afew compnaies that use techies for sweeps etc on avergae once a week. some others once every few months all depends on how far up the food chain they are and what they deal in.

Depends on make etc, you can pickup sweeping equipment for around $40 (basic). For the big units a little more shall we say taxing on the pocket
