ok so ive done a bit of research into this. I know im too young for any training centre let alone actual work as i'm 17 but upon finishing my a-levels i wish to take up Close Protection however is it worth going into CP straight from college as most of what i have seen people have previous experiance in related fields of work such as Army/Police etc.

I've deleted your duplicat post, and moved this post into a better forum for your questions.
I've also changed your thread title as it had nothing to do with your post.

m3uk,
Nothing is a waste of time, you can try and find your way into CP work but read all the threads on this forum first and take on all the info the guys and girls have to say. If you are doing A levels and you are a switched on cookie then may be a couple of years as an officer in the forces will put you in a good position later in civilian life, you will have widen your horizens and you would know more about life.To cut things short mate its up to you in the end, but please read all info first before you make your decision. Good luck |

Finish school, get a degree, then reassess your career options (by then probably won;t be CP...).
Good luck. m |

Don't make a mistake mate, go to Uni, even if you don't want to. You can always do CP after but will be very difficulty to go to Uni after.

Couldn't agree more. Just look at all of the out of work CPOs and security managers who are trying to get degrees to stay in the game.
Go to uni and why not join the TA at the same time. Get some good courses and military / security experience under your belt and you'll be far more employable. If you try to enter the Circuit with no qualifications or experience, I imagine you'll either struggle for work or go from one low paid job to the next for the rest of your days. Everyone these days needs an extra string or two to their security CP bow, such as languages, Surveillance, enhanced medical skills, advanced driving, technical surveillance counter measure training, training or managerial qualifications. Use the Uni and try to develop yourself before you step into the ring with seasoned operators. Spanish, French or Arabic is a great start. Good luck |

Hey mate take the uni and don't do the same mistake as myself.
Because of my lack of education(im a stupid cunt lol) i had to learn everything in the army and belive me it was a hard and shiti way to become employable. Now you have two ways in my opinion. First: Go to the uni and get a degree and get smart (i don't say you aren't)and be employable in every way within the security industry. Second o the same shit as me that means,"get your arse kicked for years and be employable just in dusty and dirty place's.After all im not your father(im far to young for that)LOL)take the advice of expirienced operators who knows how it work's outside or not and do that what you think is the best for you. Good Luck with your choise !!! All the best |

Good call legioner. M3uk, your degree doesn't have to be directly related to security, you could broaden your horizons and options, while sticking with the security theme by joining the TA and doing courses with them and the money you earn with the TA could fund the evasive Driving Course you mentioned, although you'd be far better off attending an advanced driving course. many more clients are injured in traffic accidents by poor Vip drivers or by other road users than there are clients injured in contacts or even clients saved by great evasive driving.
