CP work in Oz

Looking for advice and direction,

im moving to Perth in the next month and in wondering if the sia badge and the CP qualification is recoqnised there ??

The sia badge only covers the UK, the quals will hold their own,the badge is of no use in OZ brother stay safe ram out.

Yea mate im in oz and there are security licences you need to get to do security. C.P work you only need a crowd control licence. C.P work in oz is very hard to get into because there is not that much of it and its the old not what you know but who you know. Im in South OZ. Not to sure about Perth but i do know they pay well for security over there.

As was just said you will need to get the relevant security licence. It changes from state to state, to get your basic security licence you will atleast have to do a week course, thats for NSW anyway, not to sure about Perths rules. There doesnt seem to be much in the way of Close Protection work around, been sussing things out for when I get out of the army later this year. I am actually making my way to the Uk after I do the Ronin course in October. From what I have been told alot of the websites make out like they are CP but really the only work they do are bars and clubs. Hey Grey,

In Perth at the moment, not a lot of CP work here, more over East in Sydney, Brisbane, but as has been said, it's who you know. Seems to be lots of Investigation / PI work but you need Cert III Investigations as well as Sec II licence. Depends on your Quals you maybe able to RPL some of the licences.
The other option is Consultant work, but again if coming in New you have to build customer base, best to work for the Man & get a regular wage. PM if interested & will try send you some details.
