Well you are of course entitled to your opinion the same as I am. The guy is obviously taking his first course to try and get into the CP market and deserves all the help we can give him. His fitness question has already been answered but I also think it's important to point out to him that he might want to think about his grammar and spelling. I think this forum deserves the use of proper words and not txt spk!
Depening on his course he may have to do reports, projects and other paper work or work on a PC whilst on it and I don't think his instructors would be impressed if he used the sort of thing we see above and with our school kids nowdays. |

The man was asking a question in a forum, not applying for a job, what the hell is wrong with people these days? Of course there is a time and place for everything but lets get realistic here it was a question and where you may find it innapropriate he isn't filling in a form or a job application.
Try being a little supportive, not everyone has the highest of standards in all walks of life, it doesn't make them a bad candidate or operator. Next you will be picking faults at people who use localisms, and slang from their own region. It's a support site to assist not to demene those who maybe don't fit your high standards, and well done to you if you are always perfect. No offence but everytime i look on here these days there is someone back biting someone else, and it is hardly a way to share your knowledge is it. |

He may not be filling in a form or applying for a job but this is a very large, worldwide forum and his posts will be read by his piers and potential employers. I think it's important to look professional, be it in public or in a public forum. He has already said that he shortens his words in emails, I think it should be pointed out to him that perhaps it's not a good idea he do this if he is going to be contacting training companies or potential employers by email!
Sorry if you don't agree. |

Agree with the man above.
If the guys illiterate then as I said in my first repsonce; no malice intended but presentation goes a long way as any professional on this forum would know. Turn up for an interview with me in rag order and you are not getting a job. Turn up here talking like a fourteen year old on their mobile when you can type properly is very much akin to that in my humble opinion. We are adults and any learning difficulties aside I would expect people to present themselves well. And beleive me on this if nothing else; I am hardly the most literate man here but I don't use that as an excuse '2 tlk lyk dis.' |

Welshman08, there is no recognised fitness standard for the sia CP Course and to be fair, there is not really much chance of any of the training providers being in a position to actually 'factor in' any fitness training, the time tables are usually too tight. Psd is a different matter, you will need to have a reasonable standard, not just running, carrying, sprinting and fire and movement will all require you to spill a large quantity of sweat. Hope this helps.
Re: Your spelling a grammar, a moot point when the folks giving you advice, refer to 'piers'.. ..a place for a ship to dock.....I think he means 'peers'..... and I think a repsonce is the same as a responce!!! Maybe you should get a proper dictonary and theasarus, rather than take their advice!! Take care......BTW I am not being personal....only my opinion!!! |

I read and printed the article Nomad and was very informative thanks. Bit shocked regarding initial money, but hey when I started in my current career I think I was on a lot less...we all ahve to start somewhere. Thanks again. Any private further advice would be appreciated. |

Guys i dont mean to be rude or anything on this ,but when i get briefed for jobs im doing ,i use short hand or text writing as this saves time ,it doesnt mean that the guy your slagging off is unprofessional at all , you most probably find that he will be a great guy in the field ,who maybe one day you end up working with . encourage him not critize him .
Again just an oppinion and nothing ill mannered. half the guys ive worked with are dislexic or have some form ov problems with reading and writing but on the ground they the best as its all stored inside that 80 gb brain they have . Regards welshwarrior. |
