I totally agree with the other replies. Open mind is definately the way ahead. Take it as day one, of something you know nothing about. On my course I saw x-medics getting ripped apart, former senior ranks with the attitude - I never failed a course in the army, therefore, the course must be flawed. Know your own method of learning. If you learn better in a group working offa crib cards - do that - or if you learn better by your self out for a walk with the blood flowing go for it. Just remember the price of the course and what it will cost you to redo part of it, to that end, on down time relax and enjoy it but dont over do it on the dizzy water. This will tell the course provider more about the person he is going to put his name to or not. Have a good course and let us know how you get on.

yeah mate keep an open mind as they said, dont be toooo keen coz as i found in my course when there is a brown noser the rest of the group tend to avoid involving him in the work... we had a serious down to earth word with our (odd one out) and after that he was actually an ok lad although he still carried the stigma of wanting to be teachers pet...its all bout teamwork, work together as a team, as a team help the weakest coz as you help him/her you will in turn be assisting your intake of info... when it comes to essays and stuff, dont try to make the instructor sit all night reading yours coz that'll just bore them, you wanna keep it simple sharp and to the point with emphasis on details regarding the potential threats and situations.
good luck im sure you'll do very well Rhys |

I know there is usually 'the one' that for one reason or another becomes the odd one out within any group, and will undoubtedly drive you all crazy, but i think it is better to just put up and shut up where they are concerned. You can never do too much revision even though after a hard day the falling down water may look VERY tempting indeed.
You are all part of a team for 3 weeks and everyone has diffrent strengths and weaknesses, so by helping others when they need it you in return may get help when you find yourself a little beffudled by something. There is a great diffrence between being a brown nose, and asking well informed questions, if you don't ask then you may find you don't fully undrerstand something, and then look like an idiot later on. There are no stupid questions if you treat the experience as something completley new that you know nothing about. Pay attention and remember how mucg you have paid, in fact never forget how much you have paid because trust me it does help you to focus. Everyone with a licence has been through a course just like you are about to do, with whichever provider they chose, and i am sure that everyone before you has learned something that they didn't know. Enjoy it though, it can be hard work, with long hours, but i guarantee it will be 3 weeks that you will remember for a long time for many reasons. Best of luck to you and enjoy the experience |
