Folks,

The Close Protection World admin team has recently noticed a slight increase in various members and training companies bitching and arguing within the forum.
This more often than not revoles around training companies.

This has resulted in negative feedback from various parties.

I was always told if you dont have anything good to say then dont say anything and as they say if the cap fits....

I'm no buisnessman but surely companies must realise that by openly arguing and bitching within the forum effects there reputation - just a thought.

Remeber ladies and gents this forum is designed to help people not to scare them.

Regards,

CM

Its interesting how much is perceived to be argumentative; I myself have had a few conversations which I perceive as a happy, back and forth debate when the person replies back with something overtly heated or outright insulting, demeaning or whatever. Seems its very easy to get into an arguement on forums without even realising it in many cases.

Perhaps instead of just knocking on the head any negative posts, we demand people remain objective. Afterall, if we cannot speak our minds within the limits of defamatory statements and such like of course; all CP World will represent is a pink & happy industry with none of the chaff or crap is exposed.

Agreed.

The written word can easily be mistaken and taken the wrong way.

I think we've all received texts and thought ...hold on a minute here what are you trying to say? Sometimes the person sending the text or posting is infact trying to communicate something different but because we dont see the body langauage and hear the way its been said we can find ourselves misunderstanding what is intending to be communicated.

Most reasons for this is probably due to the fact that the parties dont know each other personly. We have seen that it is so much easier to bitch and moan when you dont know who you are speaking to, but face to face would/could be different my be the tone would then be different. Anybody can talk the talk on the forum but can they walk the walk perfect opportunity to see this is in London on the 8 sept.

I say perhaps certain people are being a little sensitive. I agree totally with Scab, lets not pretend everything is pink and fluffy.

If companies wish to engage in slagging each other off, i say great. It helps the normal bod like myself, make a more informed decision when choosing a training provider.

If blokes want to do it, i say great, it helps the employers out when recruiting (if they come on the site). Either way everyone,s a winner...

Nozzer,

I agree with scab with some of the points he has brought up, yes, it is a public forum & i for one am a strong believer that if you put something on a forum then you must accept public comments, Scab & i have exchanged views on a couple of issues.

However mate, your comments do nothing for promoting the industry, what should be said, is that if people have a problem with someone else, then deal with it in a PM or if you feel that strongly, phone them!

This industry is struggling as it is, what we dont need to do is hang our dirty washing out in public!!

Guy's this isn't the playground, this is our industry we're talking about.

Again, this is only my opinion

James Mc

I can't personally see how watching training providers bitch in public is going to endear a potential student to choose them..... If i was in that position and i witnessed companies openly slagging one another off i have to say i would avoid at all costs and take my hard earned money to a company i felt was worthy.

Lately as i have said previously the bitching and nit picking has become rather predominant and how newcomers must perceive that is anyones guess.

Yes it is very easy to take another person comment out of context, and take offence, but people constantly jumping on others regarding spelling, grammar and the like really is just mindless nit picking. Having a thick skin and a sense of humor is one thing but we don't all share the same one, and maybe it would be wise for people to possibly consider what they post a little more carefully as things posted in anger one day may be regretted the next when it is a little too late.

No offence meant here CM and Mally but possibly a few more moderators would help.

People come for advice and assistance and to share opinions, but blatant slandering just seems to be creeping in and it puts people off from posting an opinion.

There are a great many people on this forum with a mass of experience that is helpful to many of us, and possibly we need to convcentrate onthat rather than look to pick up on one anothers flaws. Hell none of us are perfect. But maybe any issues should be taken up in PM as James suggests, as i personally dont need to know about everyones private issues
