I Spent 2 years doing convoy work in the sand pit and my only advice is to think long and hard the rewards are high but i've never been brought a drink by a dead guy! I lost 6 close friends in a short time and although spent another 2 years (4 in total in the sand) i avoided convoy work like the plague itself and stuck to genuine CP work. Of all the jobs in Iraq convoys are one of the most risky.
![]() However good luck in your employment quests. If any one needs a contact list i have a CP / Security / DOD contractors contact list available to members for personal use. Greyman |

I've seen several threads along this line on here and I must say I'm worried...
I haven't been to Iraq etc for about 3 years or so but the wages being discussed are terrible.. Has the companies really got such a strangle hold on the guys now? |

The problem is, that major companies have no problems with filling positions these days especially with the amount of people leaving the forces. They know that most ex serviceman have fresh experience and are going to earn prob 3 times their normal army wages. In the early stages there wasn't that many leaving so they had to get people out there who were prepared to take the risk. Recent members just leaving forces prob don't think of the risk as they have just returned, why stay in and earn peanuts when you can leave and earn more doing a better job. The companies know they will get people, they don't need to strangle. That all said it is pretty poor the wages that nearly all companies are giving now.
