Hi guys, i have come across this, there's a possibility i've posted this before either that or a similar role with UNDP. would suit more senior CPO's, those with sec management degrees, ex ruperts etc. Not your typical CP role but a chanced to get in with a major NGO. Pay isn't the best on earth, but £27k for 6 months work is better than a kick in the spuds.

Introduction

Save the Children UK is a leading international child rights organisation, fighting to improve the lives of children in the UK and over 40 countries around the world. Together with children, we are helping to build a better world for present and future generations by making a reality of children’s rights. Save the Children UK launched an emergency programme in Kenya in response to the devastating floods in late 2006, carrying out large-scale distributions of essential household items to affected families across the North Eastern Province.
In early 2007, Save the Children UK established two field offices in Kenya, one in the Dadaab Refugee Camps in Lagdera District and one in El Wak, Mandera Central District, both located in the North Eastern Province. Our programme in Dadaab focuses on Child Protection while our programme in El Wak focuses on Nutrition and Livelihood support. Both field sites are complex operating environments with significant security concerns.
In January 2008, Save the Children Kenya Programme launched another emergency response, following the eruption of violence after the December 27th national elections and subsequent massive displacement of people. The security situation in Kenya has deteriorated and has serious consequences for our operations and the safety and security of our staff.
Save the Children is now seeking a Safety & Security Coordinator to develop and ensure the systematic application of safety and security policies and procedures in all of our operational areas in Kenya. This will include the ongoing assessment of threats and provision of advice to manage risk; the updating of security guidelines; ensuring that field security working practices are robust and that all staff are aware of, trained in and adhere to security policies and Standard Operating Procedures. The post-holder reports to the Country Director and works in close collaboration with the field-based managers and Nairobi-based Emergency Coordinator, and receives technical support from the Security Department in London.
