To work or not to work, Help!!!

Hi All

I've posted a few replies on the forum and had some good advice from many of you and I thank you all for that.

Is it me or does everyone seem to be wanting 5 years experience, 3 operational tours or a host of other things even for convoy duties now?

How does someone new, with little military experience and not ex sf get a job? There are a host of CP companies offering hecpo courses but which ones the best? I know there's been threads on here before about this one but from talking to people there are some courses which have better connections out there to get you a job or am I wrong?

Its all about getting your foot in the door my friend & making contacts.

So don't be afraid to get on the phone & ring the CP companies after you've sent them your CV for some feedback.

However YOU WILL struggle Moomin if you are young & inexperienced , I'm sorry to tell you that but its the truth

If you havn't done a CP/PSD course yet, then you better find one. It increases your chances on finding a job. And of course you'll also need some luck getting hired.

I've been looking at Ronin in Hereford for the course. I went to a recent seminar there are they looked professional and friendly.

i tried to do a hecpo course but was told by a number of companys it would not do me any good as ive been out the army for too long, and i did ronin in sa

they were right ,and justley so ,you have to remember you have to rely on the guy next to you ,if he hasnt got the experiance someone is going to get hurt so they have a duty to the client and to other bg's aswell as yourself,ive asked all the companys operating in iraq (and theres a lot of them ) and they all said they would not employ me ,and if one of them did then there not a very good company to work for, ive even struggled to get work in the uk ,its all word of mouth all the jobs ive got was because i was ronin sa from other ronin grads,(i have been out the army for 20 years though)

I served for 5 years and left in 93 but have been in the police now for 6 years. Looking for a change.

you could try crg but i think its about £1,500 for the hecpo course, but i think you fighting a losing battle mate, not unless you served in iraq during your 5 years, i drove nukes about in germany for the yanks and i cant even get convoy work
