Hi Mark,
Just because you have your CP license doesn't automatically make you qualified to take up a high paying CP job. The fact is, unless you have been in the business for a few years and have contacts on the Circuit then the chance of even breaking on to the circuit are slim. I know guys who are working on an Rst who are getting paid peanuts but its from there where they will get plucked for may be a PES team...may be! As scab said, you have to prove yourself and work your way up and then if you don't have the right skill set or background you will find it even harder. It might seem a bit harsh but CP isn't an easy business to break into. |

I concur with the above, despite what some training companies suggest, a CP licence does not guarantee work, as was said in other posts on the forum a CP licence is a bare minimum training level. To get a high paid position you need the experience and additional training that comes with time only. If you have no other CP relevant training in the past you'll be lucky to start with an Rst position and then work your way up from there.

Well MARKFOSTER, with that kind of attitude, I would say you stand NO chance ever. What is it with you guys, you do a course and you are automticaly an expert? What qualifies you for high paid jobs? Your expertise? Your experience? Maybe it the fault of these training companies being greedy, taking anyone for the money. After 4 weeks or less telling them, now you are a bodyguard!! Have some humility, learn the job as you would any other job, start at the bottom and work your way up. Alternative is - perhaps this is not the industry for you, do something else. If you are looking for big money now, it is certainly not the job for you. Finally, GROW UP. Get real, or with the size of your head, you will never get through the door!

In the same place as everyone else, follow the yellow brick road, or work hard, network like mad, get out and meet people, think before you speak and write on places like this, above all else, have a thick skin and a "can-do" attitude, not "I can do, cos I think I'm great" but a "can-do, cos other people think I'm great".

Mark hi... I don't wish to throw the cat amongst the pigeons here mate and I make no judgment about your question or comments, that's your business, but it is a very slight observation on my part that you may wish to come back and say something here and perhaps start a fresh?

To be fair to the guy, he might just have done a course where he was sold the classic "you'll be working well paid jobs for celebrities and the spectacularly wealthy in a few weeks" line.
So come on mate, who trained you? |
