Have you been offered a paid job yet by a company Lock324 since your first post on this thread?
I'm glad if you have, it shows others that a few companies have clubbed together to help out and that there is no need to work for free. This will hopefully help get the message across to other new starters about the wages freefall that has been ocurring in recent times, and paid employment can be found if determined enough. Let us know how you get on and give us a shout when you start your contract. Thick skin, banter and a dry sense of humour (which I think you've got) will always see you through the crap times. All the best. |

lock342 , did you do your course in south africa? i did,and ive asked many pmc if i did a hostile enviroment course would they then concider employing me and they all said no,as i have been out the army for 20 years,i spent £4800.00 on the ronin course so it would give me a better chance with the remote medical assistant, and im doing festivals for £10.00 per 12 hr shift, unless you are just out the army from a hostile area give up mate your wasting your time ,wait for your licence like stevethrift says join me at the bottom and work your ass off,if your any good at your job the work gets better and people start putting your name about,i have people asking me to work for them instead of me asking them,it will take some time but it will come this job is hard work ,im on this laptop every bit of spare time i have networking, nothing comes easey in this game mate keep your chin up and keep going it will come if you nwork hard enough at it cheers

Dog,
the Companies you have maybe wrote to have not been recruiting at that time? i suggest that you represent you resume every month to these companies. This is a very selective industry, but surely the company you have completed your course with should atleast give post course help? I have a friend that runs the bba forum he posts employment oportunities weekly (Fridays) also look at the Law enforcment sites from the states ? American companies have opportunities for Brit CPO's, also look at sending your resume to GSI and paying for it to be revamped, if your not getting replies your resume may not be attractive to the HR eye? so stop re-evaluate. you are your product its how you market YOU! good luck mate and hope that this has been of help? Brummie |

Just a quick note!!!
if you do not live in London? there is a site called Flatshare.com in some cases you will pay as little as £40 a week which is an acceptable expense on your daily or weekly rate? anyway just a thought Brummie |

People do not buy products...people buy Benefits!!!!!!!!!!!
So the question really is What? Benefit are you going to be to your employer or which benefits are you going to bring to the party? |

Guys, one of the reasons why companies are now being fussy over skill sets and cv's is that the larger companies such as AG and CRG have a corporate duty of care policy to adhere to.
I am not suggesting for a second that the duty of care is directly passed onto the guys but in post incident management and the subsequent coroners inquiry, companies will be scrutinized as to there selection process and HR policy to ascertain that they had the right guy for the job. The days of 'bums on seats' are well and truly over!! |
