Its a Hard business and thats a fact you have allot of people out there whom have blagged there way into jobs in there CV's are just full of ????. So just keep your head down try and get on Rst to start and work your way up the ladder. If you really are taking this carrier move serious then you will get up the ladder thats a fact and never get into the its only RST cause that is good grounding and develop your skills at that. Also make sure you network yourself to the business and meet as many people in the Business as you physically can. As word and mouth is the best way forward also location of where you live can be a big factor into employment.

Thankyou Psdtraining, got my licence a couple of months ago and have been struggling to get work plus my confedence is deminished by people telling me it's only for the ex millitary or ex bill which i think this forum is full of. I'm willing to do all the shit jobs and climb the ladder, i've never wanted to anything else so much in my life. Willing to learn and even have the piss ripped out of me if i think it'll get me in with a decent company or decent and experianced bunch of lads and lasses. Again thanks psd training for the advice. There are plenty of people who are working who arent ex-mil. Send me your CV and I'll see where you are going wrong. Its the season and everyone should be working or about to start by now. Send it to ********@***********.com (I've pm'd you the email address) and put "carter CPF" in the header. No Cv's from anyone else at the moment please. Confidentiality assured.

I'll state this nice and clearly for one and all to read.

In my own honest opinion: this industry is NOT just for ex military or ex police, there are and I have personally worked with both types of guys no matter what, you will always get arseholes and good people from EVERY walk of life and both genders let me add.

Non exmil/pol can be a valued asset on any team, as they can have a wider train of thought.

ExMil & Pol can sometimes have difficulty dealing with everyday people, they can have ego's, brought on from training and experience etc etc etc.

Don't lose faith, if this is what you want to do and be, then give it all you have, just be realistic in your goals, are they achievable, within your set time frame, are the clearly defined, have you the resourses to achieve them.

Getting the training required, is easy, getting on the first rung of the ladder is not, it's really that simple, it takes hard work, determination and persistence.

Good Luck!

Right, just realised you can't pm back as you need to have 10 posts. I've emailed you via this forum, hope it works and gets to you. You need to post around this forum till you get up to 10 posts, then pm me. I'm going to be away for a few hours.

OK Carter, this is the way it goes around here. I have offered to help you, I was even ready to give you a chance on a job starting tomorrow. I have emailed you, posted on this forum etc etc. I felt that it was "my turn" to take a gamble and help out someone in need. I even informed you I would be away for a few hours and would deal with you upon my return. Obviously my free advice and a possible start was not enough for you and actually you are a waste of space. I do not need to do this at all, but felt that I should try and help.

Unfortunately your position has been given to someone else WHO CAN start tomorrow on £175 per day.

Regards

Shakes

PS Dont come on here and say the usual bollo*ks about not getting the email, been away, couldn't pm (I even gave you advice about that), about everyone is against you blah blah blah, heard it all before.

I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

something along those lines kenpsd just thought it would bring a smile to some people,as hard as this industry is to get a foot on the ladder so to speak ,i think its important to have a sence of humour ,and the crap jobs im doing to get to the ladder i think it says volumes about my inner self ,as in do the crap jobs with a smile on your face and treat them as the most important job you have ever had ,and maybe people will think ,:that guy is doing a really professional job when i wouldnt bother:

dogbomb in my personal opinion, which may not be welcomed around here with the shere level of testosterone flying about last few days, i agree with you. A sense of humor is an important asset. And does get you through the jobs that you have to do to get you started.

Not being too proud to take the jobs that you know you are going to hate, and doing them professionally with a smile is a great attitude. After all just because you may think they are crap jobs, to someone out there, ie the man paying you, they are important enough to pay someone for, and after all the client is the one that matters after all.

And yes even women get to do the shit work too, we don't all walk into a great job as soon as we have that shiny licence in our hands just because we have a pair of top bollocks.

Anyone foolish enough to think that after training your first job is going to be BG to someone rich and famous is simply fooling themselves (although i do know cases where that has happened). Trainers for the most part should be more honest and wheras they aren't obliged to wipe your arse for the next year after training i think most decent ones will at least give you some guidance not fill your head with ideas of grandeur.

Good luck with your path to the ladder upwards
