Amen to that Psd .... How many times have we seen that happen... or worse still a CPO trying to offer services of his friends etc (meaning him and some friends) to a client or company rep , when they are on task for someone else.... greed in this industry and underhanded behavior
Is IMO the biggest failure of many CPOs.

I seem to remember the forum doesn't let you send mail until you've made 10 posts and he's only just reached that. So its maybe not his fault.

Good Point Little woman and well made...

however the mails Marcus (Morrigan) was referring to were sent not through CPW , but in response to a mail sent by Lock to his company mailbox.

Cheers

Thank you for all of your honest replies. All of your comments have been taken onboard. I am learning the ropes and trying my best so i apologise if i have offended or upset anyone. Some of the replies were a bit harsh but it's your opinion. My comments about taking a low wage was more of an expression of how much i want to work in the industry and the response i got suprised me, but thanks for the replies. If anyone else has anymore advice please let me know as i do listen and learn. Many thanks.

As in impartial observer having heard the opinion from both sides I recommend that if you have come into the industry from a civilian background then focus on the UK and European market start at the bottom, listen and learn. Passing a driving test means that I have learned to pass the test, the reality is that I have to learn to drive! Place that template on completing the sia course then you will understand where the guys are coming from.
On the hostile environments there has been a general shift to recruit ex-military for the following reasons:
A military background instills a greater sense of military situations, to understand when it begins to deteriorate and deal with it intuitively as a team. I agree that it shouldn't hinder an applicant but the people who recruit particularly to fill slots in that kind of environment are of the belief that these are the people they will favour.
Blackwater is still reeling from recent events and like it or not they and more importantly the training providers are accountable for the individuals the level of training and people who are supplied.
Whilst you are waiting get yourself skills that are useful such as medical training or advanced driving skills.
Start at the bottom, work hard and be professional!

I got 22 cvs from people last week.

All had done a course.

All had some sort of mil/pol/sec background

All had an sia license- or pending

All had A four day medical course- ether HSAW or FPOS

All had the phrase 'good as part of a team' in their covering letter.

ONE had a seperate dedicated Driving Course, PCO clearence, a pediatric med course and had attened a project Griffin brief, and they declared he had accomodation in the capital, and was booked on a Surveillance course wth PJ.

I had one vacancy to fill. In London.
