Ed, I left the Army in April and completed the CRG course. I served a little longer than you but most people on the course were about your age or a little older. Most did not have your current or operational experience so that is a bonus. THe course is not cheap and youu are required to attend the First person on the scence course before attending or as part of the course as I did. Total is about 3.3K.
I am now employed by CRG as a consultant in NIgeria. There is very little CP work here at the moment and we are not permitted to be armed. Pay is good 300- per day. I was asked by CRG to write a report about the course which I did. If you want I will send it to you so you may have a look. CRG is a goos course with quality instructors but I advise you to shop around. Very few companies will garantee you work at the completion of the course. My email address is: jack_kennelly@hotmail.com |

ive worked with mostly US companies in Iraq and Afghanistan, but also workied with Brit CPOs there, ive seen most former UK military are doing Phoenix and Ronin courses as they are widely recognised by British Security Firms in the pit and aghstn, i have an IDF and Israeli CP background still got me work there.

Hi Ed, as usual on this forum, you will get (hopefully) a lot of advice. Shop around and do your research much as you are doing now. Depending on what you actually want to do depends on what courses you need and also what you are likely to earn. I have done a lot of work in Africa, also in the 'pit' both hostile and non, obviously as the wages go up, so do the risks. Have a look at the Psd Training website, as well as the others, if you feel I could be of any further assistance to you PM me or give me a call at any of the numbers on our website. Take care.

Hi there ed
First i would like to say make sure your doing the right thing by leaving the Army. I have seen loads of ex inf lads thinking they can walk out the Army into a job that pays 10 r 15k a month which is abit of a myth so just have a look at what you really want to get out of the course. I dont want to go saying who is better than who and who is utter s**t but having said that have a look at Longmoor group/ crg people are saying good things about these two. The last thing i will say is watch out for these companies that promise you employment with there sister company if you do well on there course THIS IS BULLSHIT. I wish you luck dude stay safe maddog |

ello m8 i was also in 1RGJ my advice to you if your looking at working in a hostile location is start looking around for a course that deals in that like Psd training RONIN sa or Ronin concepts people have slagged that company off but they have got better i know 2 people alone who have gained work by doing there course 1 is also an green jackets also look at doing some med courses as well then bang your CV to as many companys as you can and wait and in the mean time just do the odd security work events over the summer hope that helps yeah *censored**censored**censored**censored* durch
