Job Description: Our client is seeking a fully qualified Generator Electrician for its site at Basrah Airport, Southern Iraq.
This position is based at the UK MOD site at Basrah Airport and the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective maintenance of generator sets ranging from 250 500 KVA which are operated at this UK military camp.
Background and Experience Requirements: The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Generator Electrician with experience of maintaining generators in a range of 250-500 KVA.
You will have gained experience and have a sound knowledge of fault diagnosis and repair of computer controlled synchronization panels of generators linked in parallel series.
Experience of working in post conflict, remote sites or in other arduous environments would be ideal.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Good communication skills are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Generator Electrician looking for something different.
This is an initial 12
14 month contract, which is extendable by agreement. You will work on a rotational basis of 10 weeks on and 3 weeks off back in the UK.
Accommodation, Company uniform, meals, medical cover and flights to and from the UK are provided.
