I'm deploying out on the 6th Aug just want info. Is a lap top essentiall or could I do a turn around then get one, not got the finances spare to get one just yet? An anything else you think would be worth taking?

Hi mate,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, its a little busy here at the moment. The kit list you have been given is the min of kit you will need to get you started, you will get a better feel for what you need once you have been here for a while, the basic kit is issued to keep you going. The lads down here will advise you on other bits that you my need.

A laptop is a must as its the best way to communicate with people back home, do not worry if you have not got one as there is one in the office you can use until you get one. A phone and sim card can be bought for around $100 if you need to get one and calls back home are cheap, but again most guys use skype.
