Experienced CPO looking for work, a few years ago I was working for a cowboy company, I haven’t been doing the work for a few years now but am looking to get back into it, I’ve done my BNU Level 3 Close Protection and have my sia but just need the work now, anyone fancy helping me out????????

If you've worked in the industry before you will know already how to get work; and that if people don't know you they are certainly not going to refer you to work or refer work to you off of the basis of a forum introduction. |

Have to agree with Scab on this one mate...... last time you were in the industry there were roughly 800-1000 'official' cpo's...... now, due to the sia allowing anyone with a few grand in their pocket to take the course and get badged there are many thousands all chasing fewer and fewer jobs at lower and lower pay rates. Time to restart those networking skills again Kirk, contact your old colleagues and ask them for referrals to employers. Otherwise its knocking on doors and crunching numbers again. Ill be there the 8th nov, the reason why i dont speak to any old colleagues is because when i was doing it a few years back only myself was officially trained and all the old guys i worked with are no longer in the industry, i was lucky enough with not havin to network before as i feel flat on my feet with the job i was doing, but if somone was to ask you for advise on how to network correctly what would you recommend????

My advice is to get yourself out there, if you go to London and knock on the doors of the big companies, sell yourself mate. Best of luck |
